Caption:  Lindow Man. Hologram of the mummified head & torso of Lindow Man, a "bog body" dated between 20 and 130 AD. This body of a well-built man aged in his twenties was found in 1984 in a Cheshire bog, England. He had small ears, a full head of darkish hair, a short beard, moustache and side burns. Lindow Man met a violent end in which he was struck on the head, was garrotted with a thin cord, and had his throat cut. Many ancient bodies have been found in the bogs of northwest Europe. Many met violent deaths by murder or religious sacrifice. Low temperature and oxygen, and high tannins in bog waters led to the mummification.
