Images In Action

Science Photo Library (SPL) has a deserved strong reputation for being the leading provider of specialist science images. However, our images are often much more widely used than might be expected.

Here are some recent examples of SPL images in action.

Ladi Solanke:
"The client originally had requested a plain Human Skeleton as the illustration but we wanted something more unusual and striking which, while showing areas of the bone in X-ray style, would be altogether less familiar but also relevant. SPL was the natural choice for me when considering the quality and choice of image that I would need to view before selecting the most appropriate one."

Kay Mellish, Research Co-ordinator:
"We looked around at other libraries' images but found that SPL had the perfect style. Pure quality, vibrant colour and abstract - to encourage people to look twice at the image and be intrigued."
